Marietta Times Readers’ Choice Award

Readers trust Bruce M. White with legal needs

Attorney at law Bruce M. White has been providing legal services since 1984, and he said his favorite part of the job is helping those in need.

“Handing people who’ve been hurt a check when they are so grateful that I was able to help them are some of my favorite memories during the job,” White said. “in many instances (they’ve said) that I have significantly changed their life for good.”

White added people understandably focus on the money lawyers make during this kind of work, but they don’t understand how much hard work from an entire staff of dedicated people goes into it, and how necessary that work is to help injured people get what they deserve.

Whit received his business degree from The Ohio State University in 1980 and his law degree from West Virginia University in 1983. He moved to California immediately after being admitted to the West Virginia Bar in 1984 and practiced personal injury law in Los Angeles and motorcycle injury cases all over California, which is where his first million-dollar settlement occurred. He returned to the Mid-Ohio Valley in 1995.

For about five years his practice was based in Harrisville an then in Parkersburg, mostly focusing on criminal law practice.

Around 2000, he began shifting his practice to helping those injured in car wrecks and has continued to do so since.

White is an experienced personal injury trial lawyer who is licensed to practice law in West Virginia and Ohio. He can help people deal with the hassles of insurance companies, doctor visits and bill collectors.

“I became a lawyer because my father was a lawyer and judge an two of my uncles were lawyers,” White said. “And seeing how they helped people led both my brothers, Fred and Max and (myself ) to become lawyers. Others think it’s a genetic deficiency,” he joked.

White has helped a lot of people in the Mid-Ohio Valley over the years, and is happy hed’s here.

When White is not in the office he enjoys power sports.

“I am wild about all things automotive, motorcycles to sports cars to ATVs,” White said. “I’m just a big fan of power sports.”

White feels the voters voted for him due to his clients speaking well of him an others hearing about his career and his success.

“My Advertising gets people’s attention while informing them as well,” White said. “But word of mouth and people speaking well of me is the best advertising you can get.”

“I am very appreciative of the readers who selected me for this award and will continue to help those wronged by others,” White said.
